Two-stage Aesthetic BreastRecon®

Motiva Flora® SmoothSilk® Tissue Expander is placed after the mastectomy procedure
to expand the skin and create a pocket for placement of a permanent implant*. Once
the expansion process is complete, the Motiva Flora® SmoothSilk® Tissue Expander is
removed and replaced with a permanent breast implant*.

  • stage 1

Stage 1: Motiva Flora® SmoothSilk® Tissue Expander Insertion and Gradual Tissue Expansion
During your mastectomy procedure, your surgeon will insert the Motiva Flora® SmoothSilk® Tissue Expander into your breast, either under or over your chest muscle (pectoralis major), and close the incision.4,5 In the coming months, your surgeon will periodically inject small amounts of saline solution though the Flora® SmoothSilk® Tissue Expander’s injection port and gradually stretch the breast tissue.4,5
  • Stage 2

Stage 2: Permanent Breast Implant* Selection
Once the expansion process is complete, the second stage of the procedure is to remove the Motiva Flora® SmoothSilk® Tissue Expander and replace it with a permanent breast implant*.

*Breast implants are not a lifetime device.

Motiva Flora® provides a natural-looking slope in the upper part and more fullness in the lower portion during the expansion process, promoting organic results in the reconstructed breast.7
  • MRI conditional

    MR Conditional & magnet-free port

Motiva Flora® is labeled as MRI conditional, meaning that you can safely undergo MRI scanning during the expansion process, under specific conditions.5
  • Truefixation

    TrueFixation® system

Includes fixation tabs made from reinforced silicone, designed to improve breast symmetry and prevent possible displacement after surgery8, providing stability throughout the expansion process.

A first-of-its-kind

MRI Conditional Tissue Expander

A photo of a girl

Motiva Flora® is a next-generation MR Conditional tissue expander, meaning that the port used to fill your device does not contain a magnet and can be used safely under specific conditions during MR scanning.5

Traditional tissue expanders with magnetic ports can pose complications during vital MRI scans, and are often classified as MR Unsafe.9

However, the Motiva Flora® SmoothSilk® Tissue Expander was purposely built with a non-magnetic port detection system, designed to provide a safer solution for women needing MRI scans during the expansion process.5

Our advanced RFID port technology offers MR Conditional labeling and is designed to reduce the risks associated with conventional magnetic port tissue expanders.2,10,11

It’s like, I have so many strengths now, I feel like I’m more alive now. Waking up and seeing that my breasts were still there, I feel like it helped emotionally."
